art, robotics, gaming projects with intent

by on February 9, 2011

As we begin to develop our activist projects, it helps to know what other people are working on.  Here are a few projects and labs (much of it is student work) to take a look at in terms of values- (such as justice, freedom, compassion), and how the creator / artist developed their concept.

Some thoughts and questions to consider:

  • Boil down the project to a one sentence main idea; how easy was it to understand the key point of the project?
  • How do the actions, interactions, reactions to the project (if applicable) implicate the user in the key point?
  • What is the tone? (ironic, angry, optimistic)
  • What is the purpose? Does it attempt to solve a problem, raise awareness?
  • Does it ask the user to take an action outside of the immediate interaction?
